About Us

“Of One Belief” is made up of GAA people, men and women, who agree with what’s said on our Home Page. We’ve come together in a concerted opposition to the pay-for-play proposals that Central Council’s fateful decision of 8 December 2007 was going to foist on us.

There are now more than 900 GAA people registered on this site. And the numbers continue to grow. They come from every County in Ireland as well as Britain; Europe; North America; and Australia. By registering you “sign up” to what we’re about. Many of you email comments back into us. We’d like to publish them but to keep the legalities right on an interactive site very precise editorial control is needed. Because we’re all volunteers here that isn’t something we can provide.

We do try to keep in touch with you all by emailing out Circulars every one or two weeks. They hopefully keep you up to date with what’s going on. All the Circulars sent out to date are posted on the site.

“Of One Belief” has succeeded in two of its initial aims. First, the 8 December decision wasn’t allowed to go by default. And second, despite clear and disappointing resistance, it’s now on the agenda for Congress in April 2008. But we need to defeat it there. We’re confident the majority of GAA members oppose pay-for-play, however it’s dressed up.

We believe this issue is a battle for the very soul of the GAA. It’s got nothing to do with personalities or individuals. In our battles we’ll play the ball, not the man. Help us do that by mobilising GAA support against a scheme and a principle which will invariably lead to our destruction.
